Seychelles Branch is the first branch of Bank of Ceylon in the African Continent. The branch commenced business as a fully pledged branch from 20th January 2014 for both Domestic and Offshore clients. Personal

  • Can a Sri Lankan citizen open an account in Seychelles Branch?

Yes, A Sri Lankan citizen who resides in Seychelles can open an account in Seychelles. The type of the account is to be decided considering the eligibility requirements.  The account can be opened in any currency of SCR/USD/EUR.

  • If so, what are the pre-requisites to be fulfilled?

He/ she must have a valid work permit issued by Seychelles Immigration Department.

  • What are the documents to be submitted for opening an account?

    a. Dully filled and signed application together with following documents.

     b. Work Permit (GOP)

    c. Passport copy

    d. Address proof

    e. Income Proof

    f. For a US citizen- FATCA form (Foreign account Tax Compliance ACT form)

 

Corporate

  • Can a company incorporated in Sri Lanka open an account in Seychelles Branch?

Yes.

  • If so, what are the pre-requisites to be fulfilled?

Bank should satisfy with the,

     a) Purpose of account opening

     b) Business Relationship with Seychelles

  • What are the documents to be submitted for opening an account for a company?

The same as company accounts opening procedure in Sri Lanka.

     a) Dully filled and signed Application

     b) Articles of Association

     c) Form 01 or Form 20 in a case of changing the directors/secretaries

     d) Certificate of incorporation

     e) Board resolution

     f) Passport copies of Directors

     g) Two Reference letters from two separate Sri Lankan banks

 

Fund Transfers /Encashment of currency

  • If a customer is remitting money from Seychelles to Sri Lanka (BOC Account or Non BOC accounts), how long does it take to remit funds and what will be the charges.

Credit Facilities/ATM and Internet Banking Facility

  • Can a Sri Lankan obtain a facility from Seychelles Branch against the securities in Sri Lanka?

Yes. But only against the assignment over Fixed deposit.

  • Can a Sri Lankan who has an account in Seychelles presently residing in Sri Lanka, obtain a facility from the branch?

No

  • How can a customer apply for an ATM Card?

ATM facility is not available at present

  • How can a customer apply for Internet Banking Facility?

For Internet Banking facility, personally visit the branch or by an e- mail. (itmseychelles@boc.lk)

At present Internet Banking is provided only for viewing account balances.

  • If a customer wants to reset the password of Internet Banking how his request to be reached?

Customer has to fill the password reset application and submit it to the bank or send by an email (itmseychelles@boc.lk)
